WHAT IS THE HYDROPLEX SYSTEM?

The Hydroplex system is a unique solution that combines off the shelf filtration and controllers with unique scale prevention and disinfection. At the heart of all Hydroplex cooling tower and loop systems are copper silver ionizer and magnetic core scale control. When installed on a cooling tower the components combine clear and keep scale from forming and kill bacteria. When the ionizer is installed on closed loop system the ionizer kills layers of bio forming sessile bacteria that constrict pipes, restrict flow and filter them out leaving clear clean water in the loop system. With the magnet also installed on the loop system existing scale is cleared form heat exchangers and boilers maximizing HVAC efficiency. These systems operate 24/7 to keep water clean and clear. Only Hydroplex systems solve all of the problems associated
with HVAC systems.

Every Hydroplex system provides highly effective 24/7 water treatment to consistently remove particulates, control scale formation, and control harmful bacteria such as legionella. This is achieved through a combination of copper-silver ionization, side stream filtration, mechanical scale control, Venturi water jets, a centrifugal pump, and a conductivity sensor.

Copper-silver ionization is the only non-chemical method recognized by the CDC and ASHRAE that can destroy and eliminate harmful legionella bacteria from water in cooling systems. Legionella bacteria causes Legionnaires in elderly and immunocompromised individuals and can cause Pontiac Fever. LEGIONELLA CONTROL

Copper-silver ionization is the only non-chemical method recognized by the CDC and ASHRAE that is 100% effective in eliminating legionella bacteria from water.

SIDE STREAM FILTRATION

Hydroplex combines a centrifugal filter and an automatic purge valve with a controller that is connected to a conductivity sensor to purge debris collected from the tower basin

SCALE CONTROLLER

Magnetic core units apply alternating high-intensity magnetic fields. This results in calcium ions forming stronger bonds to themselves than the surfaces of the tower bundle, clearing scale and preventing new scale formation.

VENTURI WATER JETS

Filtered and treated water is returned to the basin through Venturi sweeper jets that continuously agitate the water in the basin and assist with the filtration of basin debris.

CONDUCTIVITY SENSOR

This sensor continuously measures the water conductivity and sends this information to the micro controller.

MICRO CONTROLLER

The controller monitors the conductivity of the circulating water and opens the purge valve when the conductivity rises above the set point. The controller also sends voltage to the copper-silver ionizer based on pre-adjusted settings.

A HydroPlex was installed on the cooling tower the first year, and a Loop treatment system was installed on the process water loop the following year. A HydroPlex was installed on a new installation of a cooling tower, and a BoilerPlex was installed in the boiler loop in the spring of 2011.
